Great Year Gets Staley SC Most Valuable Player Award

Jared Staley took ABA Rookie League by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 21.

For his spectacular campaign, the Chuluota Imperials star has been named the 2020 Southern Conference Most Valuable Player Award recipient.

"To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the left fielder.

On the season he compiled a .360 batting average to go with a .470 on-base percentage. The native of Newark, New Jersey also added 15 doubles, 4 triples, 94 home runs, 165 RBIs and 166 runs scored.

He received 19 first place votes out of a possible 24. Chris Roberts of the Jacksonville Nationals finished second in voting with 5 first place votes, while Joe Moreno of the Jacksonville Nationals finished third.
