Northern Conference Selects Manager of the Year Wednesday, October 21st , 2020 A baseball manager's success usually depends on the talent of his club, but in the case of David Sawyers, he seems to have taken the Whitby Bats to a higher level and gotten his just due. He was named this season's Manager of the Year in the Northern Conference for leading the team to a very rewarding season. "Everyone on the team put in a lot of hard work this season," he told reporters. "It's always nice when it's acknowledged in some way." Sawyers led Whitby to a second place finish in the Northern Conference West Division. The Bats ended up with a 92-48 record. |
