Alvarado Tops Southern Conference Pitchers Sunday, October 16th , 2022 The Southern Conference made the official announcement today. The 2022 Southern Conference Pitcher of the Year Award has gone to Arturo Alvarado of Ft. Wayne. He had a superlative season, chalking up a 18-1 won-lost mark with an impressive 1.66 ERA. Alvarado logged 27 starts, threw 157 innings, yielded 104 hits, struck out 159 and held the opposition to a .186 batting average. He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner.
