Jonathan Thompson of the Whitby Bats had one of those moments when he went 5-for-6 at the plate in his team's 19-6 win over the Lincoln Princes at Lincoln Grounds. "I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 18-year-old third baseman told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years." Jonathan Thompson flied out in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and doubled in the 9th.
