Earthquakes Defeat Suns Sunday, October 2nd , 2022 A celebratory mood filled the air as the Ft. Wayne Earthquakes closed out the season with a 7-2 victory over the Moriarty Suns at Earthquakes Stadium to capture the World Series, 4-3. Giving the Suns credit for a hard-fought series, Earthquakes players said they believed throughout the postseason that their "destiny" was to be crowned ABA Rookie League champions. "We felt like this was our year all season long," said left fielder Colby Freese, who was named series MVP. "It was our destiny to win it and we did." It was the 7th in franchise history. During the Southern Conference East Division regular season Ft. Wayne put up a 114-26 record and finished first.
