Shafer Smacks 5 Hits for Mounties Monday, July 6th , 2026 Danny Shafer really sizzled at the plate in his team's 22-13 win over the Franklin Cubs. The Moncton left fielder blistered Franklin for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. "Shafer was too tough to get out today," the Cubs skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Danny Shafer hit an RBI triple in the 1st, hit an RBI triple in the 3rd, walked in a run in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, struck out in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
