Medina Gets 5 Hits
Saturday, July 4th , 2026
Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Bobby Medina of the Jacksonville Nationals had one of those moments when he went 5-for-5 at the plate in his team's 15-3 win over the San Antonio Griffins at Nationals Park.
"I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 19-year-old second baseman told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years."
Bobby Medina singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jose Chavez in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
Thus far this year, Medina has hit .305 with 7 home runs and 31 RBIs.
