Ruhl Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games
Monday, June 24th , 2024
The streak is alive and well -- at least for today.
Randy Ruhl did it again, bashing 1 hit in the contest at Club Circle Park. For the last 20 games in a row, the 19-year-old third baseman has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Whitby Bats beat the Borrego Springs Rams, 6-4.
"I'm happy I kept the streak going," Ruhl told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Whitby clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Randy Ruhl grounded out in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Oscar Villasenor in the 8th.
This season, Ruhl is batting at a .332 clip with 18 home runs and 66 RBIs.
