Wolverines Heading to League Championship Series Wednesday, September 14th , 2022 The Riverside Wolverines clubhouse was filled with glee and celebration tonight, while the Jacksonville Nationals room was filled with despair and sadness after the Division Series concluded. "Someone's got to win and someone's got to lose, we're just glad we're on the good end of it tonight and can enjoy this," said Joaquin Gomez, who was named MVP for a strong series of offensive performance. Riverside won the final game by a 3-1 count at Wolverines Ballpark and the series 4-2. Jacksonville manager Zack Glomski was simple and to-the-point in his assessment of the series. "They were the better team and deserve to move on," he said. For the series, Gomez hit .320 with a .370 on-base percentage. He had 4 home runs, drove in 8 RBI and scored 8 runs. The Riverside Wolverines will play against the Ft. Wayne Earthquakes in the next round. Ft. Wayne won their series against the Haviland Thrashers 4 games to 1.
