Thrice Is Nice: Short Unloads 3 Homers

Anyone wearing a glove and sitting in the bleachers for today's Nationals-Raptors game had a good chance at snagging a home run ball.
Jacksonville left fielder David Short thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Jacksonville to a win, 12-4, over Picture Rocks.
"Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Short said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run."
Short was 3-for-3 on the day with 8 RBI.
David Short hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 8th.
This year, Short has batted at a .212 pace with 71 hits, 32 home runs, 64 RBIs and scored 62 times.
