Franklin third baseman Curt Lirette thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Franklin to a win, 5-4, over Abingdon. "Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Lirette said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run." Lirette was 3-for-5 on the day with 3 RBI. Curt Lirette hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 2nd, grounded out in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 9th and hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 11th. This year, Lirette has hit at a .260 clip with 44 RBIs, 15 home runs and 44 runs scored. |
