Messer Wins Award for NC Dominance Friday, October 15th , 2021 He may only be 22, but Jon Messer of the Whitby Bats has already established himself as one of the elite relievers in the Northern Conference. The reliever was today named the NC Reliever of the Year Award winner for 2021. He won the award with a strong year that saw him put up 5 saves in 44 relief appearances and 77 strikeouts in 87 innings. He had a record of 15-2 to go with his 2.28 ERA. He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Chris Anderson of the Moriarty Suns finished second in voting, while Tom Thompson of the Moriarty Suns finished third.
