Bats Cruise to World Series with Sweep Wednesday, September 25th , 2019 The Buffalo Bellflowers were simply overmatched by the Whitby Bats in the League Championship Series. The end result was a sweep, as Whitby has cruised to the World Series, with the final win coming at Eláguila Stadia by a score of 9-4. "We're clicking and running on all cylinders at the moment," said Julio Herrera, who was named MVP of the League Championship Series. "We're a dangerous team when we play like this." For the series, Herrera hit .538 with a .600 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 5 runs. The Whitby Bats don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Ft. Wayne Earthquakes - Biloxi Jackpot series. That series is tied at 1 game each.
