Hit Streak for Sanchez Reaches 25 Sunday, July 6th , 2025 The streak is alive and well -- at least for today. Tony Sanchez did it again, bashing 1 hit in the contest at Madison Grounds. For the last 25 games in a row, the 21-year-old shortstop has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Whitby Bats beat the Plymouth Rockers, 14-5. "I'm happy I kept the streak going," Sanchez told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Whitby clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Tony Sanchez flied out in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 6th, flied out in the 8th and struck out in the 9th. Looking at his stats this year, Sanchez has compiled a .467 batting average, while hitting 20 home runs and driving in 44 runs. He has played in 25 games and scored 34 runs. |
