Great Stroke: Pena Gets 5 Hits
Friday, June 27th , 2025
Victor Pena knows as well as anyone that in baseball, the biggest contracts go to the biggest hitters. At Wolverines Ballpark, he made his case to be considered among that group.
The 20-year-old center fielder hammered 5 hits in 6 chances, though the remarkable effort came even as his Riverside Wolverines fell, 13-9, to the San Bernardino Flight.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," Flight manager Nick Neumann told BNN sportswriters after the game. "Thankfully, we were able to do enough elsewhere that Pena wasn't the difference."
Victor Pena doubled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Pena is hitting at a .272 mark this season. His stats show 9 home runs, 44 RBIs and 49 runs scored. He has played 72 games for the Wolverines.
