Criscuolo Sensational, 6-for-6
Sunday, June 22nd , 2025
Whitby shortstop Jake Criscuolo could do no wrong in his team's 19-14 win over the Pirates, as he collected 6 hits.
"Things were in his favor in every one of his at-bats," Pirates skipper Bryan Crockett said to the press corps after the game. "He got hitters' counts."
Criscuolo agreed, saying that getting ahead early in the counts was "the key" to his game.
"Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit," he said. "You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."
Jake Criscuolo singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 8th.
So far this season, Criscuolo is batting .485 with 4 home runs, 8 RBIs and 12 runs scored. He has 16 hits in 33 at-bats, 2 walks and a .514 OBP. Criscuolo has played in 7 games.
