Haviland Starter Named SC's Top Pitcher Tuesday, September 1st , 2020 A standout performance in August earned Nick Turpen the Pitcher of the Month Award in the Southern Conference. When his name was penciled in to start by the Haviland skipper, it meant trouble for opposing teams. For the month the Thrashers star racked up 6 wins and no losses. In 46.1 innings of work, Turpen limited opposing batters to 28 base hits and a .172 batting average. He notched 30 strikeouts, issued 3 walks and had a 1.36 ERA. For the season Turpen has logged 10 wins and 1 loss and struck out 68 batters in 100 innings while compiling a 2.16 ERA. |
