Roe Booms 3 out of the Park
Thursday, August 27th , 2020
San Bernardino Flight left fielder Bobby Roe slugged three home runs against the Haviland Thrashers at Ballpark of San Bernardino, but couldn't win the game all by himself. The Thrashers spoiled his day by defeating the Flight, 17-5.
"The loss puts a damper on the outstanding game Bobby had, but people will be buzzing about this for days to come," San Bernardino manager Brian Reid. "That's gotta be some consolation to him. But knowing Bobby, he would have preferred a win."
For the game, Roe was 3-for-3 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"The first two I got all of them and it was no doubt they were gone," Roe said later. "It seemed like the wind helped it a little on that last one. I just wish Mother Nature had helped us win the game, too."
Bobby Roe hit a solo-shot off Francisco Ortiz in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Victor Medrano in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Keith Jong in the 9th.
This season Roe is batting .263 with 41 hits and 17 home runs. He has scored 25 times and has 27 runs batted in.
