Swing! Swang! Swung! Stotler Smashes 3 HR Tuesday, June 4th , 2024 Whatever Gordie Stotler ate for breakfast before his game against the Jacksonville Nationals, it gave him some impressive power. The Haviland first baseman smacked three balls up and out of the park at Ballpark of Haviland. His home run barrage helped the Thrashers defeat the Nationals, 9-7. "When they throw it in your wheelhouse, you've got a shot at a homer," he told BNN reporters after the game. "I got three shots today and nailed them all." On his 3-homer day, he went 4-for-5, scored 3 times, drove in 4 and put on a display that history will remember. Gordie Stotler grounded out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Victor Joya in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 6th and singled in the 7th. This year, Stotler has collected a .327 batting average to date with 64 hits in 196 at-bats, 52 RBIs, 18 home runs and scored 45 times. He has played in 47 games. |
