Appels Keeps Hit Streak Alive Friday, May 31st , 2024 The Haviland Thrashers fell to the Tulsa Captains in Captains Ballpark, even as 19-year-old third baseman Yuri Appels upped his consecutive-game hitting streak to 25 games. Appels finished with 2 hits in 4 at-bats, but could not stop the Thrashers from dropping the 11-10 decision. "Yeah, I kept my streak going, but it would have been better to come away with a win," said Appels. Yuri Appels doubled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, singled in the 8th and walked in the 9th. Appels is currently batting .356 with 9 home runs and 37 RBIs. |
