Year Over for Nationals Arredondo
Tuesday, August 16th , 2022
The doctors have spoken and Alex Arredondo of the Jacksonville Nationals didn't like what he heard. The 18-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Arredondo sustained his season-ending injury during the Corpus Christi Texans game yesterday at Nationals Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Jacksonville medical staff reported Arredondo had an arthritic elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 4-5 months.
This season, Arredondo has logged no saves. He has thrown 35.1 innings, dished out 19 strikeouts and walked 11 while putting up a 1-1 mark and a 7.39 ERA.
