Hunt Batters Abingdon Big Time Monday, May 27th , 2024 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Kyle Hunt is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-5 against the Abingdon Archers at Centerville Grounds. The monster effort from the 19-year-old catcher helped the Long Island Torpedoes get the win, 7-6. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Archers manager Roberto Enriquez. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Kyle Hunt singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
