Martin Booms 3 Homers Saturday, August 13th , 2022 Chuluota Imperials first baseman Ryan Martin sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Biloxi Jackpot, Martin told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Martin pushed the Imperials past the Jackpot, 12-8. To go along with the homers, he collected 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Martin told reporters after the game. Ryan Martin struck out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 9th. At present, Martin is batting .242 with 30 hits and 12 home runs. He has knocked in 27 runs and scored 23 times. |
