Appels Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games Sunday, May 26th , 2024 Nobody has been able to shut down Haviland Thrashers third baseman Yuri Appels in recent days. The Chuluota Imperials fared no better than the rest. Today at Ballpark of Haviland, Appels picked up 2 hits in 5 at-bats en route to a win, 12-5. It stretched his hitting string to 20 consecutive games. Yuri Appels hit a two-run double in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th and struck out in the 7th. This year, Appels is batting .352 with 9 home runs and 35 RBIs. |
