Franklin Halts Dixon's Hitting Steak Sunday, May 26th , 2024 The Franklin Cubs got more than the 18-0 victory at Spinners Ballpark -- they also put an end to the 23-game hitting streak of Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates first baseman Julian Dixon by holding him without a hit in 2 at-bats. After the game, Dixon seemed more concerned with his team taking the loss than with the demise of his streak. "I had some great looks at some pitches that I should have hit," he said. "I missed some that I shouldn't have swung at. All in all, I wasn't much help with the bat today." This year, Dixon is batting .399 with 21 home runs. He has scored 53 runs and driven in 70. |
