No-Hitter for Patton
Tuesday, August 9th , 2022
In a dominant outing, Dustin Patton of the Ft. Wayne Earthquakes totally silenced the bats of the Chuluota Imperials, finishing with a no-hitter.
In the 13-0 victory, Patton faced only 28 batters, surrendered no hits, had 9 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Ft. Wayne manager Du-sung Moon said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."
Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Victor Gonzalez had a "pretty simple" analysis of the game.
"The Earthquakes had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Patton pitched a heck of a ballgame."
This season, Patton has been credited with no saves in no relief appearances. In 132.1 innings he has a 12-3 won-lost mark, 2.38 ERA and 76 strikeouts
