Mongold Blasts 3 out of the Park Saturday, August 6th , 2022 At Franklin Park, Eddie Mongold hit homer after homer after homer. But they didn't add up to enough to beat the Abingdon Archers as the Franklin Cubs went down to defeat, 8-7. "It was a good game for me, not so good for our team," the Franklin first baseman said. "I got lucky. I made some good swings on some pitches. We just didn't put up one in the win column." On his monumental day, he had 3 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 3 runs, and scored 3 times. "The third one was totally unexpected," Mongold told reporters after his extraordinary game. "I just wanted to make good contact, never thinking I would get another home run and bang, I got number three."
