Buckner Slaps 5 Hits Saturday, May 18th , 2024 Garrett Buckner exploded for a barrage of base hits at Madison Grounds. The Whitby left fielder had a field day in his team's 9-1 triumph over the Plymouth Rockers, finishing 5-for-5. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Buckner must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Garrett Buckner singled in the 2nd, walked in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
