Four-bagger Feast: Breshears Slugs 3 for Juneau
Tuesday, June 2nd , 2026
The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Jacksonville Nationals.
Juneau left fielder John Breshears tripled up on the home runs to propel the Sled Dogs to a win, 17-6, at Nationals Park.
"We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Jacksonville manager Zack Glomski said. "Breshears hit the heck out of the ball."
In addition to the homers, Breshears collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 7 RBIs and scored 4 runs.
"Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings."
John Breshears hit a three-run home run off Dave Perez in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Victor Joya in the 4th, was hit by a pitch in the 5th and hit a three-run home run off Omar Guerra in the 6th.
This season, Breshears is swinging the bat at a .464 rate with 98 hits in 211 at-bats. To date he has hit 21 home runs, scored 83 runs and driven in 66.
