Black Blasts 3 out of the Park
Saturday, July 16th , 2022
The "hardest feat in sports" debate is a never-ending one with no correct answer, but hitting three home runs is certainly in the conversation. That's exactly what Rob Black did at Whataburger Field, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 17-0.
"It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Black said. "Good things happen, when that happens."
The Chuluota Imperials left fielder blistered the Corpus Christi Texans for 3 hits, batted in 7 runs and scored 3 times.
"It ain't like we weren't trying," Corpus Christi manager Cory Schreck said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today."
Rob Black flied out in the 1st, walked in a run in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 4th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 6th.
This season, Black has hit at a .294 clip with 30 RBIs, 14 home runs and 29 runs scored. He has played in 70 games.
