Segar Clobbers 3 HR Against Torpedoes
Friday, July 15th , 2022
The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Long Island Torpedoes.
Terra Linda right fielder Michael Segar tripled up on the home runs to propel the Chargers to a win, 16-9, at Ballpark of Plantersville.
"We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Long Island manager Victor Sepulveda said. "Segar hit the heck out of the ball."
In addition to the homers, Segar collected 4 hits in 5 at-bats, 7 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
"Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings."
Michael Segar singled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Daniel Williams in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Danny Guajardo in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Steven Rudolph in the 6th and walked in the 8th.
So far this year, Segar is batting .251 with 13 home runs.
