NC Trophy Goes to Walker of Terra Linda Monday, August 23rd , 2021 Terra Linda's Josh Walker would not be denied the Northern Conference Player of the Week Award for this past week. His consistent stroke, which produced 9 hits in 20 at-bats and a .450 average, made him the clear favorite to win the honor. "You just go out there and do what you have to do," said Walker, "When I'm up, I try to focus and block everything else out of my mind and have a good at-bat. I'm up there to get a hit or advance a runner, not to get caught up in the emotion of the moment. I hope I can win this award every week." He also tallied 6 home runs, 13 RBIs, and scored 9 runs. For the season, Walker is hitting at a .297 clip with 30 home runs, 52 RBIs and has scored 61 runs. He has 90 hits, 73 walks and a .437 on-base percentage. |
