Weeks Laces 3 HR Against Corpus Christi Friday, August 9th , 2019 Anyone wearing a glove and sitting in the bleachers for today's Earthquakes-Texans game had a good chance at snagging a home run ball. Ft. Wayne second baseman Butch Weeks thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Ft. Wayne to a 23-2 win over Corpus Christi. "Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Weeks said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run." Weeks was 4-for-4 on the day with 5 runs batted in. Butch Weeks hit a two-run home run off Vicente Perez in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Vicente Perez in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, walked in the 5th, walked in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 8th. This year Weeks has socked 58 hits in 205 at-bats for a .283 average with 13 home runs. He is getting on base at a .382 pace and his totals also include 39 RBIs and 40 runs scored. |
