Axelson Hits 3 Homers Against Saint Pierre and Miquelon
Saturday, August 14th , 2021
Every now and then, everything just comes together.
Aaron Axelson discovered that today at Reagor Dykes Stadium, as he smashed three home runs during the 11-9 Abingdon Archers win over the Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates.
"I got three balls to hit and nailed all three of them," the Abingdon second baseman said in his postgame interview. "The first was a hanging curve, the second was right down the middle and the last one was a good pitch, but I guessed right and put the wood to it."
Axelson finished the day with 4 hits in 5 at-bats and 7 RBIs.
Aaron Axelson singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Kyle DeVries in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Dan Martin in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, walked in the 9th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 10th.
For the season, Axelson is batting .231 with 31 hits and 7 home runs. He has scored 27 times and batted in 16.
