Walton Laces 3 HR Against Moncton
Friday, August 13th , 2021
It was a good day for the Lincoln Princes and an exceptional one for Steve Walton. The 22-year-old right fielder sent three bombs out of the park to help the Princes beat the Moncton Mounties, 10-6, at Mapleton Yards.
"When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Walton said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day."
For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 4 runs and smacked 3 hits in 4 at-bats.
Steve Walton hit a two-run home run off Greg Forness in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Greg Forness in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Juan Gutierrez in the 8th and walked in the 9th.
So far this season, Walton has put up a .249 batting average with 101 hits, 25 home runs and 51 RBIs.
