3 Bombs for Jim Hamilton Tuesday, June 20th , 2023 Riverside Wolverines first baseman Jim Hamilton sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Crystal Lake Killers, Hamilton told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Hamilton pushed the Wolverines past the Killers, 16-7. To go along with the homers, he collected 5 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Hamilton told reporters after the game. Jim Hamilton hit a solo-shot off Ricardo Sanchez in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Ricardo Sanchez in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Erick Garcia in the 7th. So far this season, Hamilton has put up a .200 batting average with 3 hits, 3 home runs and 6 RBIs. |
