Bats Poehlein to Miss Year Monday, June 19th , 2023 The doctors have spoken and Josh Poehlein of the Whitby Bats didn't like what he heard. The 18-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Poehlein sustained his season-ending injury during the Franklin Cubs game yesterday at Franklin Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Whitby medical staff reported Poehlein had a torn flexor tendon in his elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 6 months. |
