DY-NO-MITE: Leyva Blasts 4 Against Princes Sunday, August 1st , 2021 Nothing could stop Izzy Leyva -- certainly not the Lincoln Princes pitching staff. The 23-year-old left fielder for the Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates sent 4 baseballs soaring out of Lincoln Grounds and made his name a part of history. Behind his barrage, the Pirates earned a win, 13-2, over the Princes. "In the standings, a loss is just a loss, but this one was frustrating," Princes manager Andy Hadley said later. "He clobbered us." Leyva's dream game included 5 hits in 5 at-bats, 4 homers, 5 runs driven in and 4 runs scored. "I know all the stories are going to be about me today, and that's OK," Leyva told the press in the locker room after the game. "Next time, it'll be one of the other guys." Izzy Leyva singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 9th.
