Alvarado Acclaimed Top Pitcher in July Sunday, August 1st , 2021 Ricardo Alvarado had a very good July and has been rewarded with the Northern Conference Pitcher of the Month Award. The Moriarty bullpen specialist was very effective, constantly coming in and getting his club out of trouble or protecting a one-run or two-run lead. The Suns ace starred with no saves in no relief appearances, logging 39.2 innings, 36 strikeouts, 10 walks and a 2.27 ERA. Alvarado finished the month with 5 wins and no losses -- and was named the league's best pitcher. This year, Alvarado has collected no saves in no relief appearances. He has also compiled a 14-6 won-lost mark with a 3.37 ERA and fanned 149 batters in 155 innings. Opponents are hitting him at a .196 clip in 2021. |
