Jeff Bernard Drills 3 HR in One Game Thursday, July 29th , 2021 Jeff Bernard went on an explosive hitting spree against the Corpus Christi Texans at Whataburger Field, launching a trio of blasts to help the Sunrise Manor Sunchasers win, 20-4. The third baseman finished 3-for-5 with 3 runs scored and 9 RBI. "It was just one of those days," Bernard said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Corpus Christi skipper Cory Schreck said Bernard was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Jeff Bernard hit a solo-shot off Sean Gary in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 5th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 6th. This season, Bernard is hitting at a .221 pace with 30 home runs, 64 RBIs and has scored 59 times. |
