Koerner Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Riverside Sunday, May 11th , 2025 The Ft. Wayne Earthquakes lost to the Riverside Wolverines, 4-2, at Earthquakes Stadium, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Curt Koerner's 28-game hitting streak. The catcher went 0-for-3 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Koerner, we would win the game," Wolverines manager Matt Augustus explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." At present, Koerner is batting .537 and has collected 13 home runs, 44 RBIs, .583 OBP and scored 43 runs. |
