Whitby Snaps Carrillo Streak at 25
Friday, May 9th , 2025
It was a doubly miserable day for Omar Carrillo of the Long Island Torpedoes, as he saw his 25-game hitting streak end and his team lose, 17-4, to the Whitby Bats at Centerville Grounds. The 19-year-old second baseman was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the Bats.
"Anyone on a 25-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Whitby manager Mike Boyd said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done."
To date this year, Carrillo is batting .432 with 1 home run.
