3-HR Day for Baldwin
Tuesday, June 29th , 2021
Sometimes it just isn't enough.
Chase Baldwin had an outstanding day at Captains Ballpark for the Corpus Christi Texans, ripping three home runs. Nonetheless, the Texans fell to the Tulsa Captains, 17-10.
Baldwin had a feast at the plate, pounding everything thrown his way. The 21-year-old second baseman banged out 3 hits in 6 at-bats, scored 3 times and batted in 5 runs. Despite his sensational performance, the Texans were not able to hold off the Captains.
"Baseball is a funny game," Baldwin said in the post-game interview, "You can't dwell on the reasons for the loss. I'm sure there will be days when I go 0-for-4 and we win. These things tend to even out."
Chase Baldwin hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Omar Lopez in the 7th and flied out in the 8th.
Baldwin is hitting .277 this year with 15 home runs and 38 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .429, 43 walks and scored 38 times.
