Maughan Jacks 3 into the Stands
Saturday, June 26th , 2021
It was a terrific day for Trey Maughan, who ripped three home runs at Centerville Grounds, and a disappointing one for the Lincoln Princes who, nevertheless, dropped the game, 12-11, to the Long Island Torpedoes.
"He was instant offense," Lincoln skipper Andy Hadley said. "Trey really put on a show. He more than did his part. We just didn't come through with hits at the right time to win the game."
For the day, Maughan collected 4 hits in 5 at-bats, scored 3 runs and had 4 RBIs.
In the postgame press conference he told the reporters he has always liked to hit at Centerville Grounds.
"I got some good pitches to hit and turned on them real good," he said.
Trey Maughan hit a two-run home run off Mario Santana in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Raul Sauceda in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Matt Bogucki in the 9th.
To date this season, Maughan is hitting .235 with 6 home runs.
