Hillis Hit Streak Soars to 20 Games
Saturday, May 3rd , 2025
With 3 hits at Nationals Park, Chris Hillis added another game to his hitting streak -- the Jacksonville center fielder has now hit safely for 20 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Nationals, as they fell, 13-8, to the Ft. Wayne Earthquakes.
"Frankly, I don't care about hits," Ft. Wayne manager Du-sung Moon said later. "I'll let him get 4 hits in 4 at-bats if it means we get a win." Chris Hillis walked in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 8th and doubled in the 9th.
For the season, Hillis is hitting .431, batted in 24 runs with 5 home runs and 36 runs scored.
