Sanchez Smacks 3 Out of the Park Saturday, June 12th , 2021 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Lincoln Princes. Terra Linda third baseman Jose Sanchez tripled up on the home runs to propel the Chargers to a win, 13-1, at Lincoln Grounds. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Lincoln manager Andy Hadley said. "Sanchez hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Sanchez collected 4 hits in 5 at-bats, 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Jose Sanchez flied out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 9th. For the year, Sanchez is batting .289 with 12 home runs. |
