Shafer Hit Streak Reaches 25 Games
Sunday, April 27th , 2025
With 1 hit at Mapleton Yards, Danny Shafer added another game to his hitting streak -- the Moncton left fielder has now hit safely for 25 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Mounties, as they fell, 14-10, to the Tiverton Colonels.
"Frankly, I don't care about hits," Tiverton manager Chris Hartman said later. "I'll let him get 5 hits in 5 at-bats if it means we get a win." Danny Shafer singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, flied out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, walked in the 8th and struck out in the 9th.
To date this year, Shafer is batting .358 with 6 home runs.
