Saturday, April 26th , 2025
The Long Island Torpedoes topped the Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates by a score of 29-19 at Spinners Ballpark, but all the talk was centered on catcher Colt Stovall.
The Long Island star hit for the cycle in a show-stealing performance, powering his club to the win. Stovall went 4-for-6, collecting 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to go along with 5 RBI and 4 runs scored.
"I felt comfortable at the plate in a way I haven't felt all season," Stovall said after the game. "It was like they were throwing beach balls at me - the ball seemed that big. And it just floated in."
Colt Stovall hit an RBI double in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Lupe Carrillo in the 5th, struck out in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th, hit a two-run triple in the 8th and singled in the 8th.
Looking at his season stats, Stovall has compiled a .299 batting average and a .333 on-base percentage, while hitting 7 home runs and driving in 22 runs.
