Ruhl Smacks 5 Hits for Bats
Friday, April 25th , 2025
The Whitby Bats stopped the Abingdon Archers by a score of 9-4 at Chupacabras Stadium, with the lion's share of the credit going to third baseman Randy Ruhl. The 20-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Ruhl said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Ruhl did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Archers.
"Not much that I can say," offered Abingdon manager Roberto Enriquez. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Randy Ruhl singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 5th, doubled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
Thus far this season, Ruhl is hitting .427 with 10 home runs, 24 RBIs and 21 runs scored. He has 32 hits in 75 at-bats and has played in 16 games.
