Ruhl Smacks 5 Hits for Bats Friday, April 25th , 2025 The Whitby Bats stopped the Abingdon Archers by a score of 9-4 at Chupacabras Stadium, with the lion's share of the credit going to third baseman Randy Ruhl. The 20-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Ruhl said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Ruhl did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Archers. "Not much that I can say," offered Abingdon manager Roberto Enriquez. "He just hammered the heck out of us." Randy Ruhl singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 5th, doubled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
