Villalobos Swats 3 HR Against Haviland Thursday, June 3rd , 2021 Corpus Christi Texans catcher Alex Villalobos sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Haviland Thrashers, Villalobos told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Villalobos pushed the Texans past the Thrashers, 26-12. To go along with the homers, he collected 8 RBIs and scored 5 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Villalobos told reporters after the game. Alex Villalobos was hit by a pitch in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Jorge Solis in the 2nd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Tony Martinez in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Victor Medrano in the 6th and doubled in the 8th. Currently Villalobos is batting .222 with 7 home runs, 21 RBIs and 18 runs scored. |
