Perez Strokes 5 Hits
Saturday, April 19th , 2025
After a 5-hit effort to lead Crystal Lake's 9-7 victory over the Picture Rocks Raptors, center fielder Armando Perez told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."
"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the ABA Rookie League-level is really something special."
The 20-year-old player earned his accolades at Killer Stadium with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Raptors.
"His swing is getting there," said Killers skipper Steve Warzecha, who spoke glowingly of Perez after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Armando did that to perfection."
Armando Perez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and singled in the 7th.
This season, Perez is hitting at a .400 pace with 2 home runs, 8 RBIs and has scored 11 times.
